Things that happen regularly at Parker Lane UMC:
(in addition to... free access to wifi, a spirit of hospitality, & beautiful open space...)
Worship starts at 10:30 and is sometimes over by 11:30 and most of the time certainly over by noon. (We are grateful to know that worship is for God and not for an hour.) What you wear to worship is not as important as the heart you bring to worship. Children are welcome in worship and love to sing and do so beautifully with love and exuberance. It is impossible not to hear the sound of children at PLUMC! We also have a worship service at 7pm on Sunday evenings where Matu is spoken freely as well as Burmese.
We meet monthly, and as needed to pray, plan and prepare to focus on what God is doing among us. Open meetings are planned to make sure we are connecting with community, building relationships, and addressing Wor-ship, Disciple-ship, Fellow-ship, Steward-ship and Leader-ship for smooth sailing in building God's kingdom.
CHILDREN'S "BRIDGES" PROGRAM BREAKFAST
Bringing Radical Inclusive Demonstrations of God's Love for Everyone - Parker Lane started bringing church to the neighborhood apartment complexes and now the neighborhood children have joined us on campus in growing numbers. Connie Agudelo, Director can give you more information about registering or volunteering with the Children's BRIDGES Program (email@example.com).
We have a room with exercise equipment that is open to everyone in the neighborhood (it doubles as the choir room and computer lab) it is open whenever the church is open and all are welcome. Exercise classes are Tuesdays at 2:00 pm and Thursdays at 10:00 am.
Youth Praise Team
Praise Team rehearsal Sundays after worship and Youth gatherings usually 1-3pm Sundays.
We have a variety of activities that we do -- some here at church, some out in the community, all fun and all "Jesus-y". We have middle schoolers and high schoolers that participate!
Mission Thrift Store
Is open from 9am to 3pm each Saturday. It operates on donations. We receive donations from the community. The community can shop and give donations and community members can shop at the Thrift Store with vouchers from the church. It's also a great place to volunteer!
Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about volunteering.
FREE WIFI and phone available! Several computers are available for job search and online inquiry whenever the church is open.
